It's been how long, six months since my last update? Yeah, "I'll try to update more" my left pinky toe. Anyway, wanna hear more about what's happened in my life? Sure you do. Let's begin with July.

Uh, my dad deployed to Saudi Arabia for a year.

And that's basically July in a nutshell, other than what I posted two posts down. In August, my mom decided to do something stupid and get us a puppy- a Border Collie puppy, to be exact. Puppies are hard enough work as it is, ditto for Border Collies. Combine the two and you have an unstoppable energy machine that will chew most violently on everything within eyesight. It's an adorable unstoppable energy machine, though, and a fluffy one at that, so we love her anyway.

Also, I am now officially a high schooler. Holy crap. I made my first post on my first forum (TS3- that's the Sims 3, not Toy Story 3, I've had to distinguish the two before and it was painful) the summer after my 6th grade year. I was 11. I was freakin' 11. Holycrapholycrapholycrapholycrap.

I think I passed my first semester, provided that I passed my Algeblah final. You'd think that because I made the highest score on my Biology final out of ALL THREE OF MY TEACHER'S CLASSES (brb squealing forever) I'd ace this one, but I barely managed to squeeze out an 80 average, and the final is 20% of my grade. If I don't pass the class with a B, my mother will viciously assault me. Perhaps with a crowbar. Or a megaphone. Or both.

Gah.

ALSO. I've fallen into a new fandom- does anyone read Lackadaisy? It's a web comic about anthropomorphic cats in the 1920's trying to keep a speakeasy running after the death of the founder and his widow takes over but can't quite make ends meet anymore with competition from their former affiliates and- gaaaah. Just read it. Read it and fall in love. Also, it's got amazing art. Just throwing that out there. =D

So I'm sorry for not updating in a while. Maybe it was the fact that my three years of torture- excuse me, middle school finally ended and I was half celebrating, half freaking out about high school. Maybe it's the fact that my blind cat passed away. Maybe it's the fact I was on a five-week vacation with my cousins, came back for a week, and am currently on a two-week vacation. Or maybe it's the fact that I'm jsut a lazy teenager.

But you know whatever.

Let's see if I can explain everything in further detail...

Eighth grade ended almost two months ago, and it was one of the most heartbreaking days of my life. There are twelve high schools in my city, so many friend clusters were being split up. None of my friends are heading to the school I'm going to. I had to watch the most (arguably) popular couple in the school have to say goodbye for the last time, and that was almost enough to make my start bawling like a baby.

And then, I went to a horse camp for kids with... um... "disabilities..." I was worried I'd be lumped in with a bunch of severely affected kids who needed help just functioning, but turns out most of the kids had very mild problems, like ADHD.

Came home from horse camp one day, and found that my mom had decided to put our fifteen-year-old cat down. He'd been declining for a few days, and when she couldn't use his legs at all, she decided enough was enough and took him to the vet. He'd been fighting with hypertension and blindness for a while and at least he didn't have to suffer anymore...

Then we were headed off to Florida with my cousins in tow for a two week long trip to Walt Disney World and Tampa. I've been to Disney World more than enough times (21 times, I kid you not) but seeing them see the parks for the first time together was very fun. One of them was only five years old and was infatuated with princesses and the whatnot, so seeing her face light up when she saw Sleeping Beauty for the first time was priceless.

We were going to head back to our home, but my grandma said one of us could come to her house for two weeks. My thought process went something like two weeks - mother = sign me up. There was a flood in St. Louis, however, and my grandpa, who works on a farm, had to work even more to make sure none of the machinery and plants had been ruined in the water. So the trip was extended to three weeks. Not like I had a problem with that or anything...

And now we're in Dahlonega or however you spell the name of the town in Northern Georgia, heading up to North Carolina for two weeks to see some of my dad's old friends, then my uncle, and finally my old friend who moved away nearly two years ago. Happeh times.

Also, one of my mom's high school friends just won a 22K lottery. Hurrah and all that.

I took a look at some of my blog stats, and they're... um... interesting?

What you see are the keywords that people have used to get to my blog. Some of them are kinda obvious, but it gets weirder as the list goes down. "Language you speak..." That's in the little introductory tagline thingamabob ("Whatever language you speak, I'm trying to say hi") but it seems like an awfully weird thing to be directed to- four times. And then there's jarsie9 and ruthless_kk, both of whom I have blogged about but only in one post. We've got 100percentdolphinzz (I admit to making that mistake last night, stupid typos >_<). Closing the thing off is... a bunch of question marks in squares? Huh?

And there are the countries people come from. Most of them are pretty common (US, UK, AU, Canada, etc.) but some are kind of weird. 83 hits from South Korea? 24 people from Luxembourg? Where the heck is Luxembourg?!

On one of my other forums last night (you know ones that aren't completely cruddy) this conversation, around 5, this post appeared:

Now, this particular person has a track record in fangirling over these particular cartoon penguis and doing some particular things to them, and trust me, you don't want to know. We mods (did I mention I'm a mod on that forum? Well, I am. I feel so proud :D) got on her case, saying "we told u no do dis." And then, in the "What Makes You Mad" forum, she posts this, a thinly-veiled show of her annoyance:

Her: Ugh, I hate it when people get on my back or tell me what to do or what not to do. Or people who don't tell me straight away.

So we kindly but firmly tell her how she's gone wrong (yet again):

Me: We don't want to have to tell you what not to do, but some things you do cross the line. Like, a lot. We have to have some rules in order here, otherwise the place would be crawling with trolls and really icky discussions. And we do try to tell you things as clearly as possible, sometimes we tell you these things many, many times.
Mod1: You'll be told what to do and what not to do all through your life, that's how it goes and how work gets done. Us mods tell everyone what they're allowed to do here, it's to keep this place orderly and neat and clean.

And let's watch the whole unfold:

Her: No sh*t. I just hate it when everyone sorta gets on my back like I've commited a crime.

1) I had a brush, some people took it and stuck it in the toilet.

Alright, so you know these phases that all people go through? Certain obsessions that people grow out of? The Sims 3 forum was one of them. Don't get me wrong,Ii loved chatting and all, but once my game fried the computer's hard drive and I couldn't play it without a bazillion crashes (I mean the game would crash my whole computer) my love for the forum weaned. Sure, it was cool seeing the cool modeling pictures, or the rants and leaving-forever-goodbyes... excuse me, kindly reviews for the new patches, but me knowing that I couldn't be able to play that kinda set a damper on my mood. And once summer ended, I disappeared- but contrary to belief, it really wasn't school that made me leave. If anything, school just made me more bored. There was a variety of reasons:

1) My parents' on/off relationship (they almost divorced AGAIN)
2) My cat dying of cancer in March
3) Her brother going blind and needing round-the-clock care
4) Being grounded for "not applying myself in school" (it should be known I'm an honor student ._.)
5) And finally, my personality changing. I'm going to discuss this more in the next paragraph:

So everyone knew me as the quiet, shy, silly but nice peacemaker there. (not pacemaker, I didn't prevent heart attacks. I'm a teenager, not a doctor.) And while I still try my hardest to stay polite, I can be loud and often rude with my points. I'm incredibly sarcastic now, and I feel it wouldn't be tolerated well on the boards.

"But dolphinz, didn't you come back around the new year?" Yeah, but that was during winter break, when I was incredibly bored. The forum was a way to ease my boredom. Once school started back up, my activity died down. That does make sense, right?

So our beloved cat has hypertension. His blindness will be permanent, the only thing he can see is a bit of light, no shapes or colors. His blood pressure is skyrocketing: 204/185. However, the vet said he looks better than most 15-year-old cats, and he still has a few good years left in him. Taking this into consideration, she gave us medication to help him.

Many of my friends on various forums were chatting about this new game called Real Life. They'd talk about it all the time, like "I need to get a Life"If everyone's supposed to get one, I figured, hey, why be left out?

So I headed down to the local gaming store and asked for a copy of Real Life. They said it can be very challenging and some people play it wrong which ends up ruining them, so they simply gave me the trial version and told me to go nuts.

I threw the game away a week later, disappointed. While the graphics were amazing, there was only one land to explore, all the characters were pretty much the same (either preppy teens or overprotective parents) and it was loaded with extra work (this homework stuff takes forever to complete, and the reward is only satisfying after two months!) Plus, all the power-ups and extra features are terribly overpriced. i'm not paying that much for a shirt, no matter how cute it is!

However, people kept raving about Real Life, saying there are millions of lands to explore, and you can create your own future and become your own person. They said the game's an free-play, "sandbox mode" game, which I love. And the screenshots they provided me blew my mind. I had to have this.

Once again, I headed down to the game store, and begged them to let me buy the full copy of Real Life. I was denied this privilege, however, as apparently you have to out of high school to own a full copy of Real Life. I find this confusing and rude to minors, but they informed me of things in the game, things nobody should ever have to know of.

Horrible things.

So, I'll just have to wait out, oh, five more years to buy my copy of Real Life. But I've been told it's worth the wait, and every day I get closer!

I'm gonna be entering high school in less than six months, and I'm really wanting a laptop. Now, I realize it takes a lot of power to run the Sims, but I'm just looking for, at the least, the Sims 2 base game. So, what's the cheapest computer you know of that can play without (many) complications? I'm not looking to buy something that can play every game in the world at once with ease, but I don't want some piece of crap, either (I have over 300 bucks right now, and I intend on putting them to good use.)

First off, the EA admins have got to be drunk. The equation h(p)+n=admin (in which h stands for maker of houses, p stands for prettiness. and n stands for general niceness) doesn't seem to hold up here.

And as for her using Mare's to patrol the forums... well, for starters, while a devoted simmer, she's also a mother and has a life to live. And she's rarely out of the Creative Corner, which, obviously, doesn't see quite as many troublemakers as our dear General Section.

While using a "gossip blog" (my apologies for using that term, Mare) isn't really the best idea if you plan on keeping a reputation high and mighty, she can't devote all her time to checking the forums. I'm not pleased with the situation, but I'm not planning on cussing her out any time soon, either.

So I've been a little too ~~busy~~ lazy to update for a while. There are so many things I'm excited about - and upset about too.

I have put it out there I'm a member of a military family, right? Well there, I just did that again for you. We've lived in the same place for nine years, a sizable amount for ANY military family. My dad's thinking of retiring next year, so big move may come up very soon.

High school plannage. There's this one I want to get into so-very-incredibly bad. It's a private school, though, and it costs 12K. PER YEAR. AVERAGE. So the only way I could get it is a scholarship. And it can be done (as proved last year) but only with extreme dedication. Should I go for it or simply fallback on my backup school?

Finally, my recent diagnosis with ADHD has made my family start going crazy over what to do about my life. Medications, special education plans... I'm the same person NOW than I was TWO WEEKS AGO, 'k? An official diagnosis doesn't change who I am.

Oh yeah, and I'm finding the Sims forums quite boring. If I ever became a mod, I'd ban the Gurus. Oh who am I kidding, they'd ban me while they were banned.

Yesterday was the last day of ~~sheer torture~~ school and I just hope that the next year goes by as fast as this one. For obvious reasons.

Good news is I'll be spending more time with my simmies. I'm starting something called "The Simself Diaries" and I may post updates here... I'm not sure if it's a dud or not, but I built my simmies the best house I've ever done so I'm pretty pleased.

My mom and dad just told us that they want a divorce. This is going to ruin all my plans for the future - first of all, next year, I'll be working as a "new anchor" on my school's morning announcements that are broadcast live on public broadcast channels. In fact, it's even going to change where I go to college now.

I honestly don't know what I should do. Any advice? Thanks.

I'm baaaaack! So anyway, two blog-worthy moments.

1. O RLY? I was in the car, and as we drove away, my dad is all, "So why did you want to bring the computer?" "To blog." I replied. "We haven't blogged in 2 years." my dad said. I left it at that, thinking, What else don't you know? My age?

2. OMG WOW! My sister and I were hiking the trail singing a campfire song to pass time. Suddenly, we stepped in 3-inch-deep mud. There go our shoes. She starts going, "Eep! Eep! Eep!" Then she begins bawling, and my dad's all "No crying, Bethany!" (yes, that is her name.) She says, "Will I have to hop on my good foot!?!?" My dad then gives us a lecture on why we should watch where we go. I start rattling off appropraite Penguins of Madagascar (later on will be refered to as PoM) quotes. Yanno how some people can say quotes from any show no matter what the circumstance? Yeah. And then, I suddenly realized - I'd been recording this entire thing! Once I figure out how to import videos off cell phones, I'll post it.
